Fire risk assessments across a wide range of premises
LRMS undertakes fire risk assessments across commercial, residential and specialist premises, including offices, warehouses and industrial premises, education settings, care and supported-living environments, residential blocks and multi-site property portfolios. The scope and extent of the assessment is agreed according to the premises, occupancy, relevant fire safety legislation and the purpose of the assessment.

Common questions
Is every business legally required to have a fire risk assessment?
In England and Wales, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 requires the Responsible Person to ensure that a suitable and sufficient fire risk assessment is carried out for premises within scope. Different fire safety legislation applies in Scotland and Northern Ireland. The Responsible Person is determined by control and legal responsibility for the premises — not always the business owner.
Do fire risk assessments expire annually?
Not automatically. A fire risk assessment must be reviewed regularly and whenever change triggers apply. We record the actual review recommendation, not a blanket annual expiry.
Must the assessment be recorded in writing?
Since October 2023, Responsible Persons in scope must record their fire risk assessment and fire-safety arrangements in full — regardless of employee count.
Can you combine a fire risk assessment with a health and safety audit?
Yes. Where appropriate, we can deliver both in a single coordinated site visit, giving you one consultant, one report cycle and one point of contact for both fire and H&S.
Do you carry out fire door inspections or fire strategy work?
We provide fire risk assessments, including observations on fire doors and compartmentation within our assessment scope. Specialist fire door inspection, compartmentation surveying and fire engineering strategy are referred to trusted partner specialists where required.
